Day two: Servant Leader
The world nowadays seem to think less and do more.... just like the attitudes of many ppl around us... inlcuding the ones we thought were our 'leaders'. This post is to help understand the most basic of all characteristics of a leader, to be a servant.
I was reflecting on several of my actions in the past, and after i read the book: The 21 indispensable Qualities of a leader, by John C.Maxwell. Chapter thirteen states: Servanthood. under the quotation: the true leader serves. serves people. serves their best interests, and in so doin will not always be popular, may not always impress. But because true leaders are motivated by loving concern rather than a desire for personal glory, they are willing to pay the price.
As i read through this part of the book, i cant help but feel that we need more of this in every leader around us. As our world gets even more immoral, as the weak is preyed on by the strong, as friends hurt when they are supposed to show care and concern... Dont we need this sort of leadership?
In relationship with my life... i can tell you its true... Many times in the past, because i show this loving concern, many fail to see the true intent, and seemingly bombarded me with insults and what was thought as "joking discrimination", this resulted in a destruction of a friendship, which was thought 2 years ago to be a fruitful one...too bad i cant curse... or i would have already done so to the ones who nearly ended my path...
I have payed the price for such, and yet i still continue on... why??? Because its my job and duty... To come here in this world, to make something right... And many people dont understand.... But they will... eventualy. If this is not true... then, feel free to determine for me... what is a perfect leader...
Becareful to those out there... If one decides to venture down the same path i decided to take... then take heed, for there are many jackels and vultures out there... waiting for the opportunity to go for the kill... Such as the devil does. In this world, those who show the love and concern for the people under him, will suffer the discrimination of many...( i call them pathetic... Am i not right? taking joy knowing that the other is suffering because what you done was "fun". If only you all have known what i would feel... I bet no one does... ) because you are not of the world... and again to those who serve under God, Dont lose faith my brothers, stand strong in your walk with God, and He will bless you with endless richess stored for you in heaven.
End note: Stay strong in your duty, stay strong, you will not regret later, but how late, its for God to decide.
Even as i think of it, i cant seem how not to relate my situation with my mother. Always showing loving concern to those who need, but always gets turn down. And when she does, i always seem to see her break down and yet somehow get back up again, and continue... Is this not like me?? Somehow... I find that God made me her son for a reason... Really i thank God. In fact, she was the one God chose to show me the msg He had for me. The one that changed my thinking and my desires. And got to what i had today. She would have been a good leader, just needed to know how to solve problems more effectively....
